Bloc Party – A Weekend in the City

Following up an impressive debut album is difficult; just ask Nas, or Right Said Fred, or Color Me Badd. See? Difficult. Artists feel as though their fans, if they are true fans, will grow along with them and be able to appreciate the new things they’re bringing to the table outside of the shadows of their pasts. They don’t want to be judged based upon their past work, they’ll say.

Being as how this was my first, and probably last, bachelor weekend since my engagement and until I get married, there were all sorts of things and ideas I had to occupy my weekend. All of those degenerated into sitting on the couch, fighting cold, playing PS2, watching movies, and occasional trips out for booze, sustenance, trivia, and what have you… But I guess I didn’t wander too far from the plan.

I did have the chance to watch Road House 2. Upon discovery of its existence, I figured the perfect first post would be a review of sorts of the sequel to my favorite “so bad it’s good” movie. But before we do that, let me get something out of the way.

If you have the good fortune of reading this, and obviously you do, you’ve stumbled upon our little corner of the Internet, Schitthaus.com. I, along with the rest of the Schitthaus.com contributors, have taken it upon ourselves to generate content for this website for no good reason other than entertaining ourselves, and hopefully you as well. We will feature original content as well as commentary on anything we see fit as all of us assholes have a pile of opinions. And if you have something you’d like to add, or if you just think I/we are idiots, cool, hot, etc…, feel free to participate in our comment section.
